Behind the plate

Catcher's mitts

Catcher's mitts for baseball and softball, built for receiving, blocking and controlling the game. Fit, pocket and break-in matter more than anything, and every mitt can also be built custom. Catcher's mitts are measured around the circumference, not in finger length.

How to choose

  • Catcher's mitts are sized by circumference, generally 31" to 34.5".
  • Younger catchers are usually better served by a smaller, softer mitt they can actually close.
  • A closed, two-piece web is the standard behind the plate for durability and concealment.
  • Everything on this page is a standard mitt you can order or build now. The Backstop Society Founder's Mitt is a separate numbered release timing to be announced.
