Catcher's mitt and leather in low light

Field tested

Field tested.
Player approved.

We don’t want you to take our word for it. Hear from the athletes putting BLB equipment to work.

Everything on this page comes from a real, identifiable person who used the gear and approved the wording. We do not write, buy or generate testimonials, and we don’t publish testing results we haven’t recorded. Where a slot is still open, we leave it open.

Want to field test for BLB?

We’re looking for competitive baseball and softball players who will use the gear hard and tell us the truth about it — including what they don’t like. Send your position, level, organization and what you currently play with. Athletes under 18 need a parent or guardian on the email.

Features

Long-form stories from inside the game.

Not review snippets. Full features that follow one product and the athletes carrying it — from the first bullpen through the last inning of a season.

Feature 01

The Defender Project

Casting athletes

Two catchers — one youth, one high school — receive the same BLB catcher's mitt and we follow them through break-in, bullpens and live innings. Same mitt, two very different sets of hands. We publish what actually happens, including anything that doesn't go the way we hoped.

Build

Leather

Documenting the first weeks — how each catcher shapes their pocket, what they do differently, and how long it really takes.

Bullpen footage. Receiving, blocking and transfer work filmed at practice speed, not highlight-reel speed.

Custom Glove Stories

Casting athletes

Every custom BLB glove starts as a set of decisions. We sit down with athletes and let them explain their own — the colorway, the pattern, the web, the lacing, the embroidery, and the reason behind it. The design is the story.

Options
Fielders glove, catcher's mitt and first base mitt
Personalization

    The decisions

Each athlete walks through their build sheet: pattern and size, web, leather, colorway, welting, lacing, stamping and embroidery.

  2. 02

    The reason

Why those choices. Position demands, hand size, a team's colors, a number, a name, a person they play for.

  3. 03

    The build

Photography of the glove coming together, from cut leather through final lacing and stamping.

Send us your footage.

If you own BLB gear and you've got a photo or clip of it in use, send it over. Verified customers only — we check the order before anything is published, and nothing goes up without your written OK. Athletes under 18 need a parent or guardian on the email.
